Giuseppe Zanotti Design
The SS13 collection is all about Africa: its energy, its symbols, and its colors. There's music for one, and the soulful sounds of the early funk groups celebrating African influences and culture. The accessories: rings in particular, are used to fabricate exquisite anklets or even more primordial influences, which are reflected in the disproportionate flames on the fire-wing sandals. There’s also a new boot, with fine metal detailing winding around the leg. The mega fringes have a tribal feel, like a light, sinuous dance evoking images of Veruschka by Franco Rubartelli. The powerful style is softened by materials like suede. The leathers are rough and matte, like the elephant and ostrich prints. Leopard skin makes just one fleeting appearance, complemented by gold metal and lip-smacking red gloss. Warm, natural shades instill a feeling of harmony, from the light of a Serengeti sunset and the rusty hues of sun-scorched earth to hints of gold for an ethno-glam African Queen.
Bags
CROC BACKPACK - a soft, roomy African-inspired bag in exotic, golden leathers. The studded, nappa hand clutches come in beguiling small and medium sizes. Fringes and suede in warm, earthy shades are the defining features in the daytime versions.
Jewelry
Summer jewelry has an African wild culture theme, with animal bone details reproduced to create bracelets, necklaces and rings. The cult season piece is the gold bra body belt.
Sneakers
Giuseppe Zanotti Design sneakers evoke a world of street art couture in which moods can be expressed as they come and go, and with the same freedom as an artist poised to paint a blank canvas. The mood is set by clever color effects on rusted laminates, finished with rough gold studs and matching luxury zips, and fashioned from soft, savannah-colored leathers.
Giuseppe Homme
Loafer, loafer and loafer. The new SS 2013 Giuseppe Homme lounge shoe comes in suede, nappa, crocodile and camouflage. The untreated calfskin flat sandals are raw cut and simply luxurious.
